Just wanted to know how does a throttle body spacer really help?

 

It doesn't on an XJ.

On other vehicles it increases the runner length, but that doesn't apply to our setup.

 

Ok I was just curious because ive been seeing that people have been using them
Didnt know if maybe they helped with gas mileage or somethin

 

They dont work...Google like mythbusters jeep 4.0 and theres a few things ppl usually say buy and get better mileage and they busted them all basically.....And for other cars...I tried one on my mazdaspeed...nothing and on a lancer...nothing. Intakes however do and sound cool but then again if you mud or like puddles.....

There was a pretty elaborate thread about this a couple weeks ago if i wasnt on my phone id find it but do a search i bet ull find it. Spacers dont do much at all for our jeeps. Id go with a cold air intake it woke my jeep up like an air horn to the face when your sleeping lol

 

A few months ago i found a k&n fipk on Craigslist, contacted the guy and went to buy it. I open the box and when i started taking the parts out to make sure everything was there i saw the body spacer brand new in it box, the guy said he didn't know it was there but i could have it for free and two towing hooks also brand new. FIPK, throttle body spacer and two towing hooks for $50. I installed it and it certainly sound good but i don't know if it do something or not. But everybody say the don't.
