get a set of big c clamps make the pack just using the F100 leafs clamp them together and lower the weight of the jeep onto the axle. if you need more lift throw an XJ leaf in (the better looking ones) until you reach desired height. when you find the height you want install your centering pin and ubolts and call it good. the leafs should be pretty much sagged out now so they wont settle anymore.

Good point on settling. I hadn't thought about that. Anyone else wanna throw an opinion out there? Like I said, I'm just looking for 2-3"

i used leafs from a ford exploder 96. good arch and gave me 4.5... but i used all my original leafs and all the leafs from the ford except the overload. my leafs were completely flat. got 'em free so can't complain. they flex good too.

I used just a set of jy s10 springs, shackle relocation boxes and autozone "lowering" shackles to get 5" in the rear. Pushed my axle back about 1" and carries weight wonderfully. Only my shocks limit the rear

Just do like cdawall and add your new springs to your main spring on the vehicle. That will save you some boku time and expended energy not undoing that main spring. If, after installing and lowering onto your wheels, you feel you have not quite attained the loftyness you require, just get yourself some shackles.

I know how the BP idea works, I'm just wondering about these particular ones. I wanna get 2-3" from the springs now so I can add shackles later on when I want to go higher. I just noticed today that my driver-side #3 leaf is broken (and I mean BROKEN. It's missing a 6" section in front of the axle). I think i'm gonna pass on these and wait for a set that I don't have to wonder about.

Thats a very good idea...because if you used those leafs, you'd be builidng a new pack soon enough!
If you want decent flex & 3" of lift...I say go to a junkyard and spent 50 bucks!
Look for the leaf you broke on your xj..shouldn't be to hard to pull it out..and then get yourself some Izuzu Rodeo springs or S10/Dak springs!
I got lucky..my bastard pack came with a RE1410 AAL. So I used it and all my stock leafs! Got around 3". I'm gonna go pull a Rodeo leaf pack and rebuild my leafs to my likings though!

The rodeo leafs are thinner & have more arch to them vs the S10/Dak springs which are thicker & less arched!
The Rodeo springs will give you a better ride and better flex! The S10/Dak still flex good & ride great! The rodeos are just better lol.
