These Springs for a Bastard Pack?
Talking to a guy online about some springs. He says it's a '73 F100
Anyone know if these will be good for ~3"?

They will give you lift, if only because the will NOT compress under the XJs weight. You do want to look for Spring Under Axel donors, from vehicles of simular weight as the XJ. Springs from a full sized vehicle will be very stiff.

Look for a Rodeo..those little ugly SUV's. Those make for a very good, very flexy bastard pack!
If you can't find one then, S10, dakato...anything thats has leafs that are 2.5" wide and are spring under!

if you already got them use them. use a couple of the leafs out it along with your XJ leafs.
ford heavy 3/4 leafs from the 60/70s
flex just fine too. built mine with the XJ upper and all of the main leafs out of the other pack. skipped the overload stack underneath.

I know about the S-10 and Dakotas. I just have a great deal going on these. I forgot about the SUA/SOA difference, but does anyone have an opinion on whether these will give 2-3"? that's all I'm looking for right now, and I can get these cheap if they'll work. Thanks for the advice you've given, but this is a present situation; not an ideal one.

mine weren't cracked but still ****ty. Use the entire pack out of the ford cutting the eyes off of the upper leaf. Its going to ride pretty stiff until you put a load in it but you should still get the lift you want out of it. mine rides alot better with 4 people in it than with 2.
