Angry Terrible Steering

This is my first xj, and my first car, so im new to this. I made the mistake of buying and already built rig, and now im paying for it.

I have the worst steering. I have a 6.5" lift, so i know its not gonna ride like a cadillac, but its bad. Its not just death wobble when i hit a bump over 50, but the whole car just throws itself around all the time. Im just about to start tearing it down and putting in all new bushings, but what else should I try?

If your axle is not at the right angle of 5-6 degrees back then it can throw you around the road. Also if your alignment isnt toed in it can do the same. I had both the same proplems

Please take pics and post them. Or find out if p.o. Did a complete lift or a cheap lift. At that height you should have many aftermarket steering components and different control arms, hopefully fully adjustable. along with a adjustable track bar and possibly a pitman arm drop to help with the angles. Also do you have aftermarket rims or stock? Sometimes too much spacing on a rim will cause steering issues.

the problem is that your using stock steering with that much lift. you really need to look into an aftermarket steering setup.
