I swapped my T4 for an AX5. I was under the impression that it was bolt on. The bell housing did bolt on, but I have no connection between the transmission and the engine. You can put it in gear and crank the engine, the car stays still. It looks like the transmission shaft didn't go threw the clutch. Anyone have any thoughts? Please help.

The engine is an 1985 2.5L AMC Carb.

 

what did the ax5 come out of.

 

I pulled it off of the same type of engine I had, which is a 2.5L AMC Carb. Im not sure if it was working on the other jeep, I picked it up from the junk yard.

 

The input and output shaft spline counts are very different on these 2 transmissions. I don't think they are compatible.

Better option is the AX-15 - bigger, stronger, same spline count
