When you look at it, there will be one bolt and one stud on each side of the crossmember. The studs are tough to get out.

Sometimes locking 2 nuts together will loosen them, sometimes you have to put vise grips on the stud itself.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Those studs have a shoulder about midway down their length. This shoulder will NOT pass through the crossmember hole. Forcing it will strip the frame nut threads.

You have to lower the crossmember either one side at a time, or both sides together. Then take out the studs.

Use plenty of PB Blaster on those threads.

They sell maybe rent a socket for a ratchet that is a stud extractor. I used it and with pb blaster it made short work of those studs

If you are going to use a vise grips on the studs, it helps to grind opposite sides flat first. The vise grip will then not slip when turning them out. Worked for me.

And good advice on the shoulder on the studs buckshot500.

not sure how crusty your bolts are, but if all else fails you may need Aero Kroil...its made by Kano labs and usually sold in supply houses like Bearing Distributors or order direct from Kano...http://kanolabs.com/ned/

this stuff puts PB blaster to shame and i only went through a can on my whole truck when doing my lift. including the T-case studs, they came right out with a vise grip on them. and i thought it would be one of the worst parts of my doing my 4.5" lift.

Question

wow!
I am extremely thankful for this forum. I can't believe I got so many answers and so fast thanks a lot guys. I have another question so is the death wobble continuous or is it just in in certain moments because I bought the steering stabilizer and it's been pretty good but um after a couple a days it just started shaking for a couple of seconds while on the highway can anybody explain to me what that is or if that is the death wobble and will it be doing that at certain times or continuously.

I don't think the wobble you are experiencing is the dreaded death wobble. Death wobble is very violent oscillation of the front steering after hitting a pothole at hiway speed. This could result in loss of vehicle control. The only way to stop the oscillation is to slow down as rapidly as possible. Sounds like you may have an unbalanced tire, or maybe some uneven tread wear. Do a search, you will find much on the subject here.

thanks a lot thanks a lot. when I'm driving I can hear the tire screeching even though I'm only going 10 miles per hour. I'm gonna go ahead and check on that balance on my left tire.

Tire screeching means you need an alignment before you kill your tires. Trust me......
