recently purchased my 89 cherokee and while driving it home i realized that its wanting to swerve back and forth on the road unless i keep a death grip on the steering wheel.

not sure if its relevant the steering wheel is about 45 degrees to the left when the tires are straight.

now im thinking that since it has a 4.5 inch lift that the previous owner just didnt have it aligned properly or at all?

feels like a simple alignment issue but i could be wrong, any opinions/advice/help on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Are the tires wearing weird? if so yup its the alignment. but also check for any play in the front suspension like, tie rod, draglink, ball joints in you jack it up. Probably needs a alignment

Sounds like an alignment issue. Mine did that when the tires were like this | /. I also had a large amount of play in the center of steering that went away after I tightened the steering box.

well the jeep was kind of a gift so i dont know everything that was or wasnt added to it. havent had time to see what still needs updgrades.

i believe the track bar had been updated but thats all i know besides the kinds of lift that was done to it.

EDIT* the tires seem to be worn evenly (not anything too obvious)...not sure if that helps though because the guy i got it off hardly drove it besides on his farm
