I just installed and Aussie locker in the rear of my Jeep (8.25) and I was wondering how loud are they suppose to be? I know I will hear the ratcheting while turning but wasn't sure how loud that was suppose to be. Also when coming out of a turn and straightening up it sometimes pops and the Jeep will swerve right every time. On rare occasions it will pop and cause the Jeep to swerve while going in a straight line. I have never had a locker or known anyone with a locker so I am not sure how they are suppose to behave.

Mine never pulled except when hitting the gas in turns. Put some good gear oil like synthetic or a blend and it will quieten it down some. If it ain't clicking it ain't working.

If its pulling to one side you might have set it up a little off. Pop the cover and re-measure the tolerances as per the Aussie instructions. It will ratchet and it will pop when it locks. As it wears-in it will also quiet down some. Adding a little more oil to the diff will help. I've heard that Synthetic gear oil makes them run quieter.

I am currently running regular 80 90 gear oil but after about 1000mile break in I was going to change to synthetic. Good to know about the quieting down after break in. It doesn't pop all the time just on occasion and mainly coming out of a turn. If it is out of alignment a little will it damage anything or just be annoying?
