Suspension lift question

And honestly a tcase drop is not the best way to solve vibes.
Wait just a quick second.
Cherokees don't have frames. You can't lift the body off the frame. Not possible.
A budget boost consists of coil spring spacers for the front, and some form of lift for the rear. Either add a leaf, shakles, blocks (not good), or actual replacement leafs.
So a budget boost in concern to a Cherokee is indeed a ''complete lift kit''.

you have less of a chance because when you use a longer shackle you tip the pinion upward... lowering the chances of getting rear drive line vibes

pretty much the only thing left would be to get new leafs for the rear and springs for front. the kit you are getting is a Budget Boost (BB) it lifts the body off the chassi and new shocks all the way around will help that older worn sus. the only REAL OFFROAD advantage to a BB is its ability to move the body up off the frame allowing bigger tire clearance. you do get the body up off the ground, but your entirter under cairage is left un-lifted. look for a complete lift kit and skip this one (IMHO) you are paying alot for basically new shocks... rustys is a pretty complete set up and you can get a lift kit with an aal or full pack (reccomended as aal's are just a bandaid...) idk, like i said- IMHO!...

I have the Fat Bob's kit and let me set some record straight. It is a great product. It was a true 2" lift. You don't need new shocks, you don't need a front end alignment. The only thing you will have to do is do some adjustments on your track bar because it may throw your steering wheel off of being straight. very simple fix in about 5 minutes. The great thing about this is that you can use this for a future lift up grade. Use the puck type spring cup and add a V8 Grand Cherokee springs and... bingo approx 4" inch lift. Use the Spring Hangers and add a lifted 2 inch leaf spring set up and with the 2" shackle hangers, there is your 4" if you need it.

BB isn't bad and nothing is wrong with the fatbobs kit. i have the equal of it that i pieced together cheaper (vatozone shackles, 2" hockeypucks ~$60) that on top of a 3" lift coil and 3" bastard pack leafs. for a 2" lift i would still get an alignment i needed one when i did my 3" leafs and coils. if you get deathwobble check that first. no driveline vibes out of mine though and its in need of u joints.

Your changing the suspension setup. You may not notice right away, but you do need an alignment. Watch how your parts, including tires, wear abnormally over time.
Sorry, bud.

[quote=Gee oh Dee;1060859]Not to question your expertise on xj's, but how so? 2 inch isnt really changing the geometry of it. I mean using factory style shocks, nowhere coming close to hitting bump stops. I only had to adjust my track bar approximately a quarter turn to adjust the steering wheel. But once again, all my components are in very good condition, all bushings as well. But please educate me.

It depends on the vehicle my buddy is running 4-5" of rear lift on an np242 with no sye or tcase drop. There are plenty that need one at that point just have to watch what your lift does.
