Default storage question

Hey all i have a question i have a 98 se and i have been useing a tuffy scurity box in my jeep. The other day i took the box out to bolt it in and the wife had me run and do somthing for her, so i loaded the kids and the dog ( 100lb Doberman the size of a pony) wanted to ride and jumped right in the back. Well the told me the Tuffy box had to go for more room for him, but i would like to heep the inportant things with me. Jumper cables recovery equipment and such, does anyone have an idea onm how to maximize my space and still carry what i need in somthing? thanks

Some people have built a platform in the back. They make it out of 1inch plywood or whatever. You can build it so you have 6 inches under it and drawers or 2 feet- Its up to you- I don't have one so I cant share pictures but Ill check and see if I can find an example for you

This one is fairly large-

This one is still large but more modular-

and another-

And another-

You get the idea though- Fairly easy to do. I have been considering it as well- Just plywood and carpet is all you need haha. Plastic drawers/containers from wallmart or build a wood sliding drawer..

I dont know if this would be of any use to you now but i have one of these and it works very nice. Its not a true security box but it is pretty tough, the lid is strong enough to sit on, has metal latches and a spot for a lock it is a tight fit though. At the store they can be bought individually.

I keep all my tools under the back seat in a soft case along with the stock jack and a 4x4 block. Have just enough to do most repairs necessary to get to help. When I go wheeling I toss the 2 milk crates of spare parts and recovery gear, in the back. Have a 9mm for security purposes.
