Default Still Grind Sound after 1" TC Drop

Just installed 1" TC drop on my 00' XJ with 3" lift. Still hearing and feeling the rear grinding sound coming from the rear drive shaft. Not as bad as before without the 1" TC drop. Is there anything I can do to reduce the grind without having to install an SYE?

You can try shimming the rear axle a degree or three to lessen vibes. Ive had shims and transfer case drop for years and over 50k miles. 5.5/5" lift. I do not do any serious offroad and mine is a manual trans so your experience may differ. If you can save/afford it get a SYE and driveshaft. It is the right and safest way.

Shimming the rear axle won't fix the issue if its the ujoint yokes rubbing each other at the tcase.

The lift is possibly just exaggerating worn components. A 1 inch drop should be more than enough to adjust for a 3 inch lift. Only way you're gonna know is to get under it and look for signs of rubbing on the ujoint yokes near the tcase. If it looks like its still rubbing then you're gonna have to go the sye route.

Super common for this to happen. The sound is usually more pronounced as soon as you lift off the throttle. But everyone's case is a little different. You can install new u-joints which usually reduces the noise/vibration orrrrrrr put an SYE in and take care of the problem completely.
