if you don't install a truss just make sure to weld the tubes to the housing

I recently had my rear dana 35 pinion gear get screwed up and originally was just going to put a new pinion in. I found a sterling 10.25 for sale for $100 that looks to be in good condition. I was wondering if this would be way overkill on my xj? I have 4.5 inches of lift and eventually going a bit bigger. And 35" tires eventually in the future. My second question is how easily would it be to hook my drive shaft up to it because it most likely takes a larger U-joint? Would I have to have a driveshaft custom made? Or would it be easear to do A sye on my transfer case and just get a larger yoke to be the same size as the one on the differential side and get a drive shaft that fits them both? Any opinions about the sterling or the feasibility of the swap would be appreciated.
I just recently had a full float sterling 10.5 from an 04 f250 put in my Cherokee. I’ve read they have strength similar to a D70. I have a hack and tap SYE with a stock front driveshaft in the rear and am using a 1310 to 1350 combination u joint to attach to the flat flange on the pinion of the axle. here’s a pic of the axle, and yes my front tires don’t match because my wheels haven’t come in yet lol.

Also, going full widths isn’t necessary “overkill” I got my 79 Ford HPD44 front and sterling 10.5 for $300 and they were already under a Cherokee. But they were fit to this guys homemade setup. Brought my Jeep with my stock axles under it to an off-road fab shop. Guy tore out the old axles, fabbed my new axles to fit and hooked up the brakes and everything for $1400. Sold my steering from my D30, track bar, rims and tires, rims and tires that came on the new axles. 3/4-1 ton swaps don’t need to be as expensive as some people make them
