Default Steering and Suspension Paint

hey guys, I am looking to paint a few parts on my jeep. Mainly the drag link, track bar, tie rod and the coils. Anyone know of anything I can use that can take abuse? Mainly worried about the coils.

I hit the suspension with some purple power and a scrub brush, hosed it off, then sprayed with whatever can of black spray paint I had in the cupboard. Sprayed 3 months ago, still looks good.

I painted my stock wheels with Rustoleum Wheel Paint. It held up better than expected from rock dings.
I also painted my rockers on up to the plastic strip with Rustoleum bed liner paint. That stuff has so far been indestructable.
Both of those Rustoleum paints dry quick.

Like bad_idea said whatever paint you use, scrub it good, roughen up with sandpaper then i always give it a final once over with 90% isopropyl alcahol.
Depending on what i'm painting, a tac cloth once over before paint but in your case with suspension parts you could skip that.

I use implement paint from tractor supply. Its an enamel, seems a little tougher than typical spray paint. It will still scratch and need touch ups eventually but it dries extremely hard.

Works well IMO. Just follow the directions on the can. Ive tried it both over primer and on bare metal. Works well either way.

One of my neighbors used somethin called chassis saver. He painted majority of his suspension parts with it and he wheels often but it's been about a year and a half and it still looks saucy. It's supposed to prevent light rust from spreading as well supposedly.

Did some reading on that Chassis Saver. Looks like good stuff. They are very proud of it though at $111 per gallon. Looks like prep for it is also a bit much. Wire brushed rust -OR- sand blasted metal.

Rustoleum is hard to beat for the price and easy to touch up when needed.
