Default Speedometer Quit After SYE Install?

So I pulled the Speedo pinion back out of the housing to make sure I didn't grind away the gear. Nope, gear is still good to go. So. Ive done this a couple times, put it in, twisted around, adjusted it, ect. And it still does not work.

Its a rugged ridge SYE, and its the stock speedo gear. 2001 XJ, NP231 T-Case.

I know the speedo will be wrong with my 33" tires, but it should still work with the stock gear?

Was it a full shaft replacement SYE, or just a hack n' tap?

Are you sure you have it in the right position? There are three positions for different ranges of sizes of gears.

is the drive gear installed correctly? (the blue gear)

if so, just try a few different positions...it should work

It was a full shaft replacement SYE, the blue drive gear on the shaft is installed correctly.

The link was really helpful. Didnt realize you could twist for different positions depending on tooth count. So mine is probably in wrong position. I will try readjusting it and see what happens. Thanks everyone! Ill let yall know!

Same issue. Took 3 times to find the right position as well, once I did, all's well with the speedometer functionality.
