Been eyeing this kit for awhile just wondering how you deal with all the stock vaccume lines that go to the stock air box cap and plug them? Also is it CARB approved or should I hang on to the stock air box for smog?

That vacuum line can be fixed with a little k&n type filter if you dont want to run it to the intake tube.

I'm thinking of getting the spectre kit but I was wondering how that works like with water and dirt getting in your cowl. Im just not sure if thats a problem with a cowl intake, im not to familiar with that style of intake. Do they give you more performance gains than a short ram intake such as a K&N kit?

Don't think back to back dyno tests have been done. But it does draw cleaner fresher cooler air than a traditional CIA. Water and dirt in the cowl isn't a problem as long as your cowl drains aren't clogged.

This is a great idea to get REAL cold air in the engine for sure.

I share the concern of many here about water sucking in when in a bad rain storm (less worried about when wheeling).

Holy crap! That video post (thank you for doing that) shows it is Really loud when you stand on it! I have wicked steep hills to climb here for work everyday - I think it just might be too much too often in my case . :-(

For a renix you just have to cap the tiny one on the intake since you are ditching the vacuum motor and flapper on the stock airbox, check the intake totm

I was looking at these the other night and pretty much made up my mind to get one. That video sold me.... I like that noise!

Anyone got a link to the THOR setup?

Never mind. I found it. I don't like how the filter gets stuck in the cowl. Seems like it would be at risk for sucking in water.

i would pefer the box, that way IF any water did get in there it would go into the box rather than straight down my throttlebody. i made this with about $30 and a few hours to fab everything up and silicone any possible leaks. not quiet as loud as the video link, but still sounds cool.

That's the route I'm going to go on my trail rig. Spectre will be for the dd, aka the highway warrior. Lol
