Can you drop a 4.7L chevy block in these jeeps? I've seen it done to an s10 it's just a matter of finding the right engine mounts and the right size engine bay. But from the looks of my 97xj I think a 350 or the complement 305 would possibly fit. 300+ torque/lb stock would be fun to go wheelin in

stroker is your best bang for the buck but i did a simple rebuild on my 88 for under $1000 and love it, if you accept that from the factory your I6 had more power that most truck V8's from the same year, you'll save ALOT of money and headaches

+1 for nitrous, definitely the most dollar/hp and you don't have to use it until you want to.

I'll agree with that if your running a constant mix and a low mix at that, but if you run a wet shot, you'll burn up quickly.

You can only run n2o at wot right? If I'm off-road I'm rarely wide open. So what purpose would n2o serve in a off-road application? Turbo to me would be a more viable option for off road.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong which I may very well be, but I believe you can run it at low levels as a constant mix, it basically runs like a super octane booster. I don't think you can run high levels unless your at WOT

That's basically what I meant. But to me running a low boost Turbo is more dependable because its always there when you push the skinny pedal. No filling Nos tanks, not worrying about melting pistons, detonation etc etc.

Did I say anything about off road use? No

That wasn't what I was commenting on, my comment was towards the burning up pistons comment.
