do you have a spare vehicle to use for the down time on the XJ?
I'd try to fix that... with all junk yard parts.
Last question, do you have the skills and tools to work on it?

1-let the insurance total it.
2-buy it back.
3-use the rest of the money to buy a new daily driver.
4-beat the living crap out of that one.

Then once you get the XJ back cut out what's left of the rockers beat that one back the best you can w/a BFH and put some 2x6 tube steel in there.
Proceed to wheel the PI$$ outta that $ucka.

if someone hit you the other drivers ins. should pay off on it to you, they will total it & offer you a settlement amount. more $ if they take it , a little less & you can keep it. i made out great once on a deal like this w/ a old honda civic, got $1800 kept the car & kept driving it for a few yrs , it got hit similar to your jeep.

Thatil buff out. Even if u and them have min ins coverage if its their fault they will total it. I got 2900 out of a 98 chevy cavalier with 135k on the clock. Bought it back for 300$ continue to drive it bc it gets good milage. Fix your new trail rig and wheel it!

2x6 sliders is def. the way to go. B-pillar and inside of rocker you can grab from a JY or fab yourself, all that **** is just 20 gauge sheet metal and hidden when you close the doors, which are also JY or CL items. If you DO go the JY route to replace rocker and B pillar beware rusty rockers. That whole thing is one empty cavity, any rust down below will certainly creep upwards.
