I didn't want to try and type a response, but hitting the like button wasn't appropriate.

That's really bad news,,..........
Not only because of his knowledge base but because, as I told him in a number off-forum communications we had, his tolerance for answering the same questions again and again.
(and because he lived in Phoenix he knew the name of the steak place up in the mountains I went to once when I was in the area (hot temperature proving grounds) for work.

Wow, I can’t hardly believe this. Paywall on the article. But if there was something going on with him, I never knew. One of, if not the best, sources of good information on CF.

I am devastated.. he was a great friend. We talked regularly. Between him, Lee, and myself, we pretty much kept things in check here on the site...Pete, I love you brother, you're already sorely missed my friend...been in tears for hours since I found out

He seemed like a really great guy, and PM me a few times with kind words.

A "giver"

If he passed suddenly, I hope it was peaceful

My condolences to his family. He helped me with my 90 XJ many times over the years. If not for him, I would have likely burned the thing to the ground years ago - I find the Renix system a frustrating mystery. He will be missed.

Chatted with his wife briefly. Passing this along for anyone who can make it.
"This is Chris Rushbrook, Pete’s wife. He passed away last Thursday. We are having a memorial service at the top Ramada at Watson Lake at 5pm Wednesday May 29, all are welcome"

I wish I was able to get there...

Man it's been a rough year or so, first Dusty, now Pete. Both great personal friends and CherokeCherokeeForum colleagues...

Between CCKen and Pete, we've lost some very knowledgeable long-time forum members. I know he did a lot to keep this place relevant.

This is the worst news I have had in a while. He was one of our greatest members on here. RIP Pete. You will be missed greatly.

@Rogue4x4 did you say dusty too!? As is the dusty out by me in wrightwood? If so, man she was so young! Met her a few years ago in person and she was great.

I am very sorry to hear the news of Pete's passing.

Back when I was a moderator of the Jeeps Unlimited Forum (which no longer exists) we would talk every once in a while about our hobby of working on and fixing up Jeep Cherokees. We both had a Jeep Comanche at one time as well.

Cruiser had a great deal of knowledge on the XJ as he was Service Manager and Shop Foreman at a Jeep Dealership for over 10 years. Then decades of working on and helping others with their Jeeps.

Cruiser54.com contains a wealth of information. Cruiser's "Mostly Renix Tips" within that website is legendary. RIP Pete, you will be greatly missed.
