In terms of HnT's go they are easy.. can be done with the case still on the vehicle and are straight foward.. I am about to dump a bill on one for mine. Like stated above.. they are used on teams DD's and trail rigs. unless your planning on doing some crazy wheeling with it and hnt is more than enough for trail duty and DD

2 weeks ago i didn't know how to install u joints. I researched and rebuilt a stock shaft and installed my slip yoke with a cheapy grinder and cut off wheel plus a broken drill with expensive drill bits. I finished it and it works great!

Don't go hack and tap. its only a little more expensive to do a full SYE and it is NOT hard to install!!

JB CONVERSIONS makes the best SYE and has very competitive pricing! and grab an XJ or ZJ front shaft and rebuild it or use it as is if it looks fine. I did mine for $250

don't do eBay SYEs! if you call JB Conversions they will give you endless reasons to no buy them! The JB kit is made in the USA!

Ha what's wrong with a hack and tap? There are TONS of people that run them very successfully. Op- there is nothing wrong with a hack and tap. Mine took 15 minutes of work to install. Plus 150 for everything isn't a bad price.

the reason to go HNT, IMO, is if you have an NP242. if you have a 231, get a true SYE

What's wrong with buying off eBay if it's from a vendor and it is either a Rugged Ridge or AA SYE with a 3 year warranty?

Why is it good for the 242 and not the 231?
