There's not much out there that I could find on bushings that will work with RE Leaf Springs (1.5" Eye) so I figured I'd make a thread and get some opinions on what I found.

So I emailed Rubicon Express and they informed that no bushings other than the rubber ones they sell would work. Well I wasn't going to let that stop me considering they were shot after not even 15,000 miles and they wanted $80.

I found out that Moog PN: SB317 is an alternative rubber bushing which is normally for a CJ7 I believe. They're pretty damn close to the RE ones






Being that the majority of my other bushings are Polyurethane I really wanted to go poly but I had a really hard time finding any, I ended up coming across a set from Rubicon Express which ended up being for a YJ I think. These were the ones that rubicon express claimed wouldnt work even though the dimensions were the same as their rubber bushings.

Now I dont see why the Polyurathane bushings wont work but before I went and installed them I figured I'd run it by you guys since I know there are people with al ot more experience on here than me

 

Note: tried the poly bushings, they fit perfect till I tried to put the leaf into the shackle and it was just over a 1/4 too wide overall to fit.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can shave down the outside part of a poly bushing.
Someone let me know, the projects at a standstill until I find more out

 

Rubicon express didn't warranty your bushings? They warrantied all mine free of charge

Nope they told me they didn't have a warranty in place but they would sell me the pair for $60 somthing instead of $85

 

I take it the 2" O.D. is for the front correct?
