Default Rough Country Lift Kit Upgrade

I have a 3" Rough Country lift on my 2000 Cherokee that was installed about 2.5 years ago. As those of you that have one or have ridden in a vehicle with a Rough Country lift its not the smoothest ride....

So I'm thinking about upgrading my lift (same size lift). Would I need to replace the whole lift or can I just add new shocks or coils and have a better ride?

Thanks in advance!

You can get some 3.5" Rubicon Express coils for about $120 and get some better shocks and that would help a lot.

So I'd need new shocks and springs? That's pretty much an all new lift?!? I was hoping to get by with one or the other.

What is rough? Do you have control arm drop brackets or a long arm kit?

their leaf springs are the rough part of the lift. Or did you do add a leaf? That's worse

that's where the roughness lies. Add a leafs are notorious for having a rough ride. Get new leaf packs.

New rear leaf packs will make the biggest difference.

I have heard that the front coils are a bit stiff, but I can't find any specs on them.

I had the exact same lift. dump the add a leaf, keep the the top spring with the eyes on it. pick up a set of dakota or s-10 springs and build your own rear springs. i believe I used the top 3 leafs out of the dakota pack cutting off the eyes on the dakota top spring about a inch in front of the bolt loops.

anyway, it rides so much better. check out bleepin, jeep on the tube for "building a bastard pack" it worked for me.

Happy Jeepin"

X3 on the S10 bastard pack. Also Bilstien 5100s or Old Man Emu for good riding shocks
