Default Roof rack question

So I have the opportunity to buy a custom roof rack from a guy, price is great for the style it is, however I asked him how it's mounted , and I would have to unscrew my existing standard rack and the mount the custom one directly on the top of the roof, my question/s what are the pros and cons for mounting it like this? Any input would be appreciated

Not very strong. Can't take a lot of weight. Could cause leaks.

So should j stay away from it then? Think it would be easy to get the mounts for the gutters? I guess I would have to post pics of it to eat these answers ...... Ill keep you posted. Thanks

After a little while the rack will start to pull the roof up, go with rain gutter mounts.

You could grind the roof mounts off and then weld on some gutter mounts. If you go that route, I'd recommend at lease 6 mounts. JRC has some good ones.
