Default Revolver Shakles

Any of you folks run these shakles? The good, bad and the ugly on them!
Reason I am asking is there is 5.5" lift for sale in my neck of the woods and the springs have the shakles on them. Asking price is $550 for the conplete lift but the owner can't tell me the age nor name brand. So every offer I make on it, he keeps coming back with the shakles are worth more than that..maybe if they are worth a hoot and maybe if I knew age and name brand!

Never had them but the TeraFlex revolver shackles I think run about $250 new.

They are horrile and nobody likes them. Tell him to keep them if he loves them so much. Then get boomerangs for $70. The ugly on them is that they unload when you take a sharp turn.

Personally, if the guy couldn't tell me any of that I would need to know why he can't. And I'd probably not buy it on that principle.

That is the information I was looking for. I figured if they were worth a hoot then they would be all over this forum as the "Bomb" and must have! Thanks my friend ..

Stay away from revolvers unless all all you do is play on RTI ramps. They unload on curves and side hills and I've seen them come close to causing a roll over in off camber stuff on my buddys YJ. He has since trashed them.

I asked how he liked the shakles and he said he never had the lift on his jeep. He bought the lift to install in his XJ but, decided not to. One of those things that makes ya go hmmmm!!

I agree with you and I am going to pass on it. I was wanting the leaf springs more than anything else.. I don't have a need in the short arms or the coils. Thanks my friend..

Have heard the revolvers can be a bit unsteady at highway speeds. Probably best suited for trail rigs only

Revolvers = Junk I had them on my YJ They are great for mall crawlers who do nothing but flex on RTI ramps and loading docks other then that they suck. They unload, they are noisy, just dont make the vehicle feel stable at all

everyone I know who ever ran them no longer run them.

a good leaf setup with a good shackle angle will flex more than you ever need it to and not be sketchy at the same time.
