relocation bracket explained
can anyone tell me about relocation brackets? why they are used, what do they do and when to know if you need them?

It relocates the shackles lower to place it at a better angle. (Most lift leaf packs is still the same length from eye to eye) and it moves the shackles to a different angle (most of the time 90 degree). It create a rougher ride. Ideally it should be at 45 degrees.

A 45 degree shackle angle is what you want to achieve good flex in the back.
Plus they smooth out the ride in a lifted Cherokee..
some shackle relocation will give you a small amount of lift.
and some that don't give lift.

If you look at most guys jeeps they have a bad shackle angle of 90 degrees(gives bumpy stiff ride and flex could be better)
