Well, that depends.

How much of the shaft is still in the transmission?

I would certainly suggest a SYE and a custom drive shaft...

Most if the yoke is still in the trans before lift. Just and do you know what length i would need?

That's the good part about Tom Woods, they have a list of measurements on their site and they build you a custom one to fit those specs.

I was 4.5 inches 2wd stock shaft i did the transfer case drop just to see it i would ride better or anything no difference, never rode bad no bad vibes slight vibes always. I try with the stock shaft then change if necessary.

Only thing is, it's not cheap. It's about $500 with a $400 deposit till they get your t case parts.

Measure to see what length you need. Then walk the jy till you find something that'll work or is close. If it's a little long, bring it to a local driveline shop and have them cut it to size.

Ah yeah forgot you mentioned 2wd. But yes you can search a junkyard. How does your driveshaft attach to the transmission? I'm not familiar with those.

Yeah people use the front DS but the thing is that it already has a double cardan joint on it and it is has the slip yoke on the shaft... I guess if the U joints are the same size idk what would keep you from using a front shaft. Idk how that would work with the rear DS and the slip yoke coming out of the trans...
