Default Rear sits higher that front...

I just finished putting a new rear axle under my 92 XJ. I also went ahead and replaced the shackles (stock) since the ones on it where rusted in two! It now looks like the rear is sitting higher than the front. The p/o siad it has a 2" lift on it. I measured from the center of the hub to the bottom of the flare and 20" front and rear. Any advice? Thanks!

If you only lifted the rear end for the swap then the springs haven't settled yet. If it doesn't settle out and it bothers you get some spacers. Keep in mind that you will get better mpgs with the rear higher than the front.

If it does make a difference, it would only be MAYBE 1mpg and probably wouldn't matter at all until you get to highway speeds.

But on a 20 gallon tank that's an extra 20 miles. And how many over the life of the vehicle? Everything adds up and I did say that it would be minimal.

It has a complete lift, not just the rear......or are you meaning "lifted" as in jacked up to remove the axle?
