Rear lunchbox locker in DD

Found out today while talking to a guy on a used locker, there is a difference between c clip axles and non-c clips just so everyone knows. I didn't think it mattered for lunchbox lockers. Talking to a guy now for a never used aussie locker with the hd pin, he's asking $170 pick up, i'm going to ask for $150 shipped.

ive thought about finding an LSD to put into mine
Mostly for snow, because i dont get to go wheeling often, i figured it was the more logical choice than any kind of locker on my DD. am i mistaken?

I dont get any snow or ice here in GA, but the only time I notice mine is when I am going around a corner on a highway at about 55-65 and let off the gas the rear end will want you to go straight and kind of shimmy around a little in the lane. I'm used to it by now.

I run a welded rear in the 8.25. Lunchbox up front. The welded is much smoother than the lunchbox.
Point being that a lunch box in the rear expect to be jerky and popy. I personally would not want that in the rear.

Will be fun to see how it handles once winter arrives though lol

I also run a welded 8.25. My passengers think my jeep is broken and people in parking lots look at me weird when I am turning tight, barking tires everywhere. It works awesome though, and it forces my jeep to track straight even with a tape measure alignment and isn't that bad to drive other than not being able to turn super tight.

I put one in my suburban. It is a spartan.
It reminds me it is back there at times, but going from an open rear to the locker was night and day.
Best mod I made for traction.

I've had a Spartan in my 8.25 for about three years now. It's daily driven with a 30 mile round trip to work and back. makes some racket on tight turns. Using heavy weight oil ("dragon snot") made it a bit quieter. You don't notice it at all in normal driving, other than some mild understeer on long curves with the gas on. I've also had some mild abnormal tire wear. Feathering on the outside edges, but every coil-spring solid front axle Jeep I've had did that. Even my '02 TJ when it was new from the dealer did it. Factory tires were shot at 18,000 miles. I'm going to try adjustable ball joints to see if I can fix the issue.
If I had it to do all over again, I'd get a TruTrac or "TracLock" and put back there. The Spartan works great, but everyone says my XJ sounds like a roller coaster clanking up the big first ramp when I pull into the parking lot at work.

Took me about 20 minutes from start to finish but I also have installed 3 in my personal vehicles and about 15 in buddy's vehicles so I can knock them out pretty quick

im having rear end problems my locker disengages around right turns and on straightaways causing the jeep to jerk off to the right while moving if i let the peddle go its fine but when im slowly accelerating it does it or a constant speed. or if im turning left it does not sound like the rear axle is going to fall out like on a right turn.
