Default quick coil Q:

whats the overall hieght of a unsprung 6.5'' coil . ????? roughly.... im dealing with (BDS) but any inputt helps ..

basicly i got new coils thinking i could eliminate my coil spacer by running a longer coil. i have suposed 4.5'' coils with a spacer so i figured id runn a 6.5 but when i got them today i popped 1 side in with the spacer still installed and dropped it down and there was no difference side to side ............weird

either they got boxed wrong or apparently i got more lift then i think i do ?

i dono , if someone could shed some light on my situation it would be awesome!!

thamks.

my rustys 6.5 springs are barely longer than my RE 4.5, it depends on spring rate. I actually went to the RE after cutting the rustys springs because with the lower rate the spring is longer and doesnt fall out lol.
so with my rustys springs cut to about 5" the RE 4.5" springs are actually longer by close to or over an inch

yah its wierd. mine, there is absolutley no difference betwween the two. like bothsprings are the same length compressed and not compressed. but the new ones are way thinker then the others.. i do agree(ct67 72) that a lower rated spring would be perfured so im not dangling coils wich i already do but i just want to get rid of the spacer . becuz without the spacer my coil will have more tube to slide down when it comes unseated. hmmm i just wish i had a refernce # to see if these r infact 6.5 ilft coils . but like u said the rating plays a big part so #'s might be vague .

any one to chime in would be helpful

According to BDS the 6.5 springs length is 21.75.
