Just got an '01 XJ last week - my first Jeep. I've got a lot of issues to suss out, but none I want to start threads on until I've had a chance to jack it up and check out the undercarriage - except this one:

When I first start it, I get a blast of coolant smell from the vents. It's there for just a second and then gone. There's no sign on the inside or outside of a leak, though...

Any suggestions would be welcome.

 

Small leak in heater core. Pressurize the coolinng system watch pressure, listen for leaks.
