has anyone tried using ford ranger coil springs in there jeep cherokee

never heard of ranger coils. have heard of older (78-79) coils. 3" lift and stiff enough for no sway bars. just my 0.2

well im gonna try it since ive had these ranger coils brand new for about year just laying in the garge
it wont hurt i dont think
ill post back what happens

i have heard from a friend of mine that you can also put f-150 coils on and it will lift it

I did the same thing, I had some leftover trailblazer coils, didn't fit lol, but close. But free to try.

do those 78 to 79 coils come off of the cherokee chief??? and stock coils will give you 3 inches?

Measure.the coil you want to use, then compare to your current spring.

That'll give a rough idea, however that doesn't account for the compression when weight is on them.

i see you said the bronco coils are stiff enough to not need sway bars... but are my stock sway bars long enough to handle the extra 3 inches or are you saying i NEED to remove them

just in case anyone is still wondering ford ranger/bronco II/explorer TTB will fit. the stock RBV coil is 500PPI the highest rated XJ coil is ~245PPI. they are stiff enough to run with no sway bar in because at 500PPI they already out do almost all XJ coils with a sway bar in a corner. they will ride like a dump truck. they are very very stiff for an XJ.
