Default Question about Alignment and upgrading suspension.

Noob Question sorry

Today I had my xj on a dirt track and went into a ditch, basically I believe I bent something because the alignment is knocked off pretty bad.

I plan on installing a 5.5 inch rubicon express long arm kit on the Jeep in about a month or so, so my question is, will that kit come with aftermarket steering components possibly including the piece I bent, or is that something I should buy separate? If it is separate please include your insight on how I should identify the problem and the best brands and sites to use.

Thanks in advance

The first step is to identify what is bent. The standard lift kit will not come with steering components.

Thank you that's what I thought, after I figure out what's bent, I want to replace it with a stronger aftermarket part, any recommendations?

First spot i would check is the tie rods. They are pretty weak and will not really hold up to a good impact. That will be my next upgrade. There are lots of good heavy duty steering kits. There are alot of thing that could have been bent, like control arms or trac bar, depending on how hard you hit.

Throw up some pictures and we might be able to help you identify the problem.
