hi all

I'm going to super charge my xj and I'm in need of some answers to questions please.

I see a lot of people add a 7th injector, can I just upgrade the 6 that are there and remap the factory computer or will it not manage the boost and extra fuel/timing? and if that is the case what are my options to actual run the motor?

I'm sure there are other things I've missed and or haven't run into yet

cheers
Lucas

Your options for the 95 are:

-Convert to a 96 ecu, harness, and 96 sensors (2 bar map sensor and larger injectors) Tune using hp tuners.

- Install an OBD1 to OBD2 conversion harness with a 96 ecu and keep the 95 sensors. A 2 bar map sensor and larger injectors will be needed. Tune with hp tuners.

- Use the Spit Second FTC and do the 7th injector thing.

-Install a megasquirt 2 extra/MS3 as either a standalone or parallel controller. Larger injectors needed (might need smart coil).

-Install a Speeduino as a full standalone or parallel controller. Larger injectors and smart coil needed.

awesome thanks cummins, might just go standalone and bigger injectors I can get them at a pretty good second hand price through mates.

just out of curiosity my mate has a 96 and thinking of doing the same thing by the looks all he needs to do is the injectors and a new map sensor?

cheers

If you have or buy the HPT MPVI2 you will need larger injectors and either a gm 2 bar or neon SRT4 map sensor for the 96 XJ. The JTEC is not the easiest to tune for forced induction. I use Chris@christuned.com who does excellent work. You will need a wideband and some way to import the data into the datalog. If you have a laptop with an rs232 datacom and a wideband with a digital output it can be done without the HPT PRO link.

With all that said I've run a 4.0L with a gen3 GM m90 over driven with a 2.55 pulley. For what you put into it it wasn't a huge jump in power and the power was not instant like I thought it would be.

Hey Im looking to push as much power out of my 2000 XJ. Its not going to be a daily so forged internals, rebuilt driveline, tcase, diff, trans all that stuff. Im just currous if you know the best way to go? Supercharger? Dual Turbo? Noos? Water Injection? When it comes to this motor (4.0L) i dont really know the performance side of it. If You can help me that would be awesome. Thanks

Really? I see someone else's name on the OP. Did you start this thread? If not, then you hijacked someone else's post.

The etiquette is to start your own thread even if it's a similar topic. If you are responding to the original post and adding to the discussion it's fine. We are a sophisticated bunch here.
