basicly im wondering if this is possible or if im just dreaming...and dont tell me anything is possible if you put in the work, this i know, lol...im just curious

as you can see its a fairly large engine...but produces 290hp and 324torque stock...geared at 2.81 and weighing 3800lbs...does the 1/4 mile in 14.2 stock...in a lighter jeep and better gearing i could see this engine being awesome....only down side would be the vanos and the fact its much more electronic than most engines..

I'd fit a 5.3 Vortec in there before I tried to put that big ole engine in there.
Hey, where there's a will there's a way. Anything is possible.

yep. 5.3 is cheap power and very common to find and puts out similar numbers without the super charger. but I'm sure a bimmer engine would be sweet

but ya i see what you guys are saying, cheaper options out there, just thought it would be unique and be easy to service my vehicles both having the same engine lol..found one of these for 700$ with only 180000km...only engine cheaper in my area is a 350, the 5.3 is going for over 1200$

You can boost a 5.3 too...

For 1500 bucks there's a guy around here that will sell you a 5.3, transmission, t-case, cut the harness down and get it mounted in the Jeep. (TJ) All you have to do is supply a stand alone ignition system and make drive shafts. I'm sure he'd charge a little more for an XJ with all the extra fabrication necessary.
