Possibly need a sye?
Okay guys I got a problem for y'all to solve. So I lifted my 1996 jeep cherokee 3" about a month ago and of course had driveshaft issues. So I replaced the two rear u joints and I'm still having issues and noises. Any ideas what it could be?

soon as you lift you change the driveshaft geometry it was designed to work at. so vibrations will occur, sometime dropping the tc works. but its really just a bandaid. proper fix is a sye & a cv rear shaft, i think a hack n tap works fine for this w/ a new or rebuilt shaft the correct length is the way to go. it always costs to play the modify game.

I wouldn't call a TC drop a bandaid. Granted you will loose ground clearance but it does fix drive line vibrations. Is it the best option? Depends on how, where you wheel and budget.

TC will reduce your vibrations, but often won't completely rid it. SYE is the only way to really fix it, but the drop will help if you are on a tight budget. I have the cash to do it right now, so I'm going SYE and I'd rather not redo it again in 6 months or risk blowing a u joint on my only vehicle. The upfront cost to me is worth the insurance. Is this your daily driver? Plenty of people get by with the TC drop, but its kind of the Add a leaf of drivetrain vibration fixes
