hey guys, my cherokee had a sunroof when i bought it, i have since removed it and all it's components with intentions of cutting the top out of a donor and patching the hole.
i thought it may be a cool idea to cut the top off of my donor and attach some sort of latches around it to seal it down in the winter and have some weather stripping around the border.
any ideas on this? has anybody tried this? suggestions?

Put a sunroof back in it. Only way to fix it right. If you try to weld a panel in its gonna be very wavy.

I would just go with the stock sunroof, and replace the seals. If you want to make the metal "pop top" sunroof you would have to make a frame for it, as well as for the surrounding roof metal.
