Plug & play 130a+ alternator
Does anybody know of any companys that make alternators that fit on a 1999 XJ without modifying any connections? I heard the late 90s and early 2000s Durangos and Dodge 1500s have the same mounts (but require some triming) but does anybody know if the plugs are the same? Thanks

There are quite a few "write-ups" here on this subject. I've searched and found a few options for my '98 XJ. Try google search for DB Electrical Alternators too.

I put a 136 amp one from Autozone on mine, the connections where plug and play, but I still had to grind down the bracket for it to fit.

My guy has a stock alternator from my '00. Says he can rebuild it to maybe as much as 150 amps. Going to run me about $150. Wanted a straight bolt in and figured this was the best way to get it. That, battery cable upgrade and hopefully an aux fuse box sometime in the future.

Dodge 160a alternator will plug up perfectly with your 99... I put one in my 99 and another in customer's 00.
Just grind a bit and plug it in & ur done.
And yes. Upgrade your cables
