Soooo, wait on drivers side drop axles. They're everywhere.

What axles are you looking for?

If you insist on being impatient you can run a Dana300... but by the time you swap cases you could have spent a nice chunk of change on a set of drivers drop 60s.

Yeah ... that case is 300 bucks. a front end is that much so your probly right on that i may as well wait. But there are sets of 60/14 for sale 350 a set. There set for a gm tho.

Fown an old dodge w200 with a 60over front and manual hubs and a beefy rear. 300 for the set. Closed knuckles too. Its so tempting.

What is your price range? For a passenger side drop I would check Advanced Adapters or maybe Off Road Design for adapters, or information as to what transmission, transfer case options are available for a passenger side drop axle set up for a Cherokee.

P.S. It probably will not be cheap.

Unfortunately, not matter which way you go it's going to be more expensive than you think, I believe.

If you find a steal on some passenger drop axles you're going to make up the difference in finding a t-case, adapters, rebuild... etc.

i found some more ford front ends and one from a dodge diesel. so i think i will stay diver side drop. t case and all the extras will add up . so i am of the though spend some money on a axle instead of swapping cases.

whats involved in re tubing an axle. why dont people just simply swap the axle tube sides? ball joint geometry?

Shops retube them but it's expensive to have the tubes pressed out then back in and having the Cs reset. Not something you'd do in your garage. And if you wanted to narrow it you'd need the shafts either cut and resplined or buy new custom shafts. It's easier and cheaper in the long run to just buy the right axle. Keep in mind whatever axle you get is going to need going through. Unless its a very new axle plan on new bearings, seals and such. A cheap axle gets expensive quick.

Custom shafts. It's a pita when you could just get a drivers drop axle...
