Ok. Looking for some Older Body Style XJ's with 32's. No trimming on the outside (visible) and on no more than 4.5 inches of lift, and some 3-3.5 inch lifts too. Please include lift brand and problems, and what it cost you totall w/out wheels/tires, but only if you are OK with doing so obviusly lol. I have a 94 and want 4.5, but things seem to get REALLY spendy around there. Sorry for the piuckness, but please post hope this is the right fourm, I'm new. And yes I have looked at the threads and searched (wasn't working right for me on my tablet?) Thanks

It all depends on how you plan on using your XJ a true Off Road or a Mall Crawler? Its all about flex and you need to decide either on a 31 or a 33" tire 32's are just an off size in a few brands.


Anytime you go over 3" in lift the cost goes way up in other items needed, even tires in a 32 or 33" requires a gear change and most install lockers at the same time do to no extra cost added.


You may want to do a little more reading and research on the lifts and other things needed along with a lot more $$$$.

 

Yea Ive been reaserchimg for a long time, just now getting into specifics and understanding how lifts work. I already have my 32 inch all terrains (Xmas gift) it won't need to be doing to much crazy rubicon trail rock crawling flexing, its mostly sand/mud and a daily. I would like to do some of the trails around me (oregon northwest) but nothing crazy, its my daily. More of a weekend warrior.I want to keep it nice. I was thinking maybe a 2.5 kit will full packs and shackles and spacers even to keep it lower to avoid some troubles at 4 inches instead of higher (yes I know its only a half inch) and to stop rubbing. I've seen a FEW with 32s and 3-3.5


Like that one. But I also want the height of the 4.5 cause of rubbing etc like this one


And maybe even flat flares with either lift. the white one had some later on in its build

I'm on 32s with 3.5 inches of lift but I have trimmed fenders

 

I'm running a rubicon express 3.5 superflex with full rear leaf packs and jk Rubicon factory wheels and tires on my 95. They're about a 32 inch tire. The only trimming I had to do was to the very edge of the fender flare and splash guard because it would rub a bit when turning.

I got folded fenders in the front, but I guess it doesn't hurt to share. I'm on 32s on 4.5 and I don't think of going up to 33", even if I have the clearance, without regearing. 11.5 wide is starting to feel big for the stock gears.

other than that, it's a jcr front bumper, 15x8 soft 8 wheels with 4" BS. sorry for the quality, not a good place for a pic.

 

They're factory jk rubicon rims and tires. 255/75r17

 

My daughters old 2000 Jeep Cherokee, It had an Tuff Country 3.5" Superflex Lift that was 2 weeks old when we bought it (I think this kit is tall for its rating), both shots are with 17" Steel Chrysler 300/Challenger/Magnum rims, first picture is with 32" BFG tires off a Rubicon, second picture is with 33" tires Goodyear MTR's, with the MTR's I did some minor trimming, under full flex it would pop off the passenger flare, and full steering crank the tires would hit the control arms.... but neither was a continuous problem. The last picture was with the stock wheels and 29" BFG AT's

 

It's not required to regear. Just know it'll kill fuel economy and be a pooch on the highway, constantly downshifting.
