Ladies and Gents, I need a little visual reference. I'm going to help a friend toss on some 3" coils and springs, and he's worried about control arm angles. Apparently I cannot console him just by my word alone. (Where is the trust in this world?!
)
If anyone is running the stock control arms with a 3" coil, can you post pics of them please? And comment if after lifting your tracbar shifted the axle any. Then i can smack him and get to work.

Yeah sure. Ill snap some after school and yes I needed a trac bar after I lifted it ( I thought) it didn't affect my axle any but I still got an adjustable one. Won't hurt nothing. And what do you,mean angle? My pul the axle back so my spring hits the bumps top is that what you mean? Or just how the control arms sit?

why is he so worried, there are TOOOONS of people that do a 3” lift without changing control arms or track bar, including myself. What will anyone here tell him that he hasn’t already heard 100+ times… granted, it will operate marginally better with control arms but depends on your budget if its worth it to you. Track bar is not required either as long as you drill a new mounting hole ¾” to the right (towards driver) of the original hole. Just do the lift…. Ifhe’s not happy, get CA’s and TB later, not like you have to remove any suspension components that you JUST installed to install CA’s and TB at a later time, just don’t do an alignment until he is satisfied.
is he planning to wheel this thing?

Exactly CPCP!!!!
It's on a 96 and he's not planning on hard core wheeling, if you can even call it that here in SC. His concern is binding while driving, and the axle shifting. I've tried to explain that clearance is fine, but he will not believe me until he sees it.
gonna email this thread to him right now......
