Arrow ** Performance** Distributor Replacement

Can anyone give me a good direction of which distributor will work for a 1999 XJ. I just put on a set of Accel Plugs, Wires, Distributor Cap & ignition coil. Now looking at it i'll have to replace the Distributor... guess thats what i get for upgrading everything else. Looking at the Accel distributors: 1. They're either $2,000 or $350(lacking the software to integrate it(i dont buy software for these because i assume its gonna require like Windows 95 to be able to work; had a bad experience with super chips on that))

SO all i need to know is whats a Good Moderately priced performance replacement.

Thanks!

4.0 engines aren't designed to work well with "performance distributors". OEM style works best.

I would go for a stock replacement as well. I know the Mopar one is top notch (part # 56027028), but a little expensive.

U can do all that but getting upgraded distributor STILL won't do anything. Mopar ones are the best

Save your money for a stroker, V8, or forced induction.

sooo back to this my local Mopar dealer was $550 for a distributor. seems a bit on the pricey side! even for mopar. so can anyone tell me if there's a significant difference between the mopar and say a company like Crown's distributors before i throw away $400 more than i think i should?

Stock OEM or reman a distributor won't do a thing for you like the wires, plugs, etc. Like trying to turn a sows ear into a silk purse!

Crown I would guess China on electronics like most places anymore.

if nothings actually wrong with your distributor theres no reason to get a "performance" one. this isn't like upgrading a dinosaur points distributor in an old 60s V8 car. just get a decent cap and rotor and be done with it
