None of them are really worth it for the 4.0 waste of cash. use that money and upgrade the injectors, cold air system, bored intake, manifold, exhaust.

I've tired 4 brands years ago (got them off eBay) I didn't notice any diffidence at all I even got a $40 one that required me to run 93 octane. It ran smoother and had little more get up but I unplug the chip and noticed no change in performance.

the one i am interested in is the bullydog since it can tune, change shift points, and has a scanguage-esque monitoring system i have seen em for 250ish. the other stuff seems like junk to me plus the ability to monitor trans temp etc is big for me

They are a waste. The ebay ones are just a box with some wires hanging out of it, and the Jet performance one that I have is garbage too. I have the stage 2 and I have seen no gains what so ever.

And with the bullydog one you can expect to see nowhere near 60+ hp. Maybe 1-2. Tunning a diesel with a bullydog product is the only way you can see those types of numbers.

No tuner or chip will do anything for a XJ.
