Dude everyone knows that throttle body spacers add the most HP.....

ok seriously though, no. chips and throttle body spacers dont do ****. In order to see some gains in HP and throttle response heres a short list of some simple things you can do to improve how your vehicle runs without spending an assload of money.

-seafoam the engine
-give it a full tune up (rotors, cap, sparkplugs, wires, coolant flush, oil change)
-if you havent done so already remove the stupid accordion looking crap in the intake tube.
-swap fuel injectors to the ford 5.0 injectors (better spray pattern)
-newer intake system

more stuff to improve performance (cost a bit more than mentioned above)
-bored out throttle body (not a spacer and only works on HO engines, but since your asking about performance chips Im assuming you have an HO so this should work)
-headers
-new exhaust system (catback, and while your at it Id replace the cat with a highflow one anyways as its probably not doing anything now)

Thanks a lot dude. Your a big help. Have you done this all to yours and seen gains? How much?

If you upgrade the injectors you have to do a hard tune- no "soft tune" chip can change injector band width. I installed a throttle body spacer on mine and it gave me a bit more torque. I also have a "volo chip" but i have it tuned for my hydrogen generator. With any ecu mod at all you will have a tough time getting gains if you dont have forced induction or at least supporting external mods. Ive been tuning cars for a while and thats just my experience.

Stroke it and add NOS. Only way to get max HP without changing to a V-8

I cant stress how much a good tune up will improve your engine performance especially if the PO has somewhat neglected. Not sure how old your jeep is or what kind of condition the engine is in, but a good tune up wont hurt. It improved my fuel economy greatly compared to the day I got it and runs great now. Swapping injectors to the ford ones is a good upgrade also, it seems throttle response was better after the swap.

I dont think he was refering to bigger injectors. The injector upgrade most people refer to is using the dodge neon or ford 5.0 injectors. Only gain is a better spray pattern. I have done this myself and I can assure there is no tune necessary for this to work.

i've seen several guys swap in 1.7 rockers and i've heard that they make/made blowers too i think they were like a spirew or some weird of brand. idk what reliability those have. i'm a 1/4 mile guy and haven't heard of that brand. i was planning on 5.0 injectors, the rockers, header and exhaust just to start.

Stroking it is difficult lol. Lot of work...and money. And my jeep is a 96 with a 4.0 that was well maintained and continually maintained.

Look for blowers that come CARB exempt. These will be better longevity wise but a buck or two more. It would be all inclusive and wont give u priblems because it takes a lot of time and money to get that sticker and they have to answer to the state in the case of an inferior peoduct. It wont b ebay bull****.

i have a superchips flashpaq programmer. it gave me smoother acceleration, slightly faster acceleration, and a slight increase in fuel economy

From MY research you should buy these things.

Bored tb> https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f11/bo...le-body-77044/

Injectors> https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f11/78...ectors-110829/

Header> http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-ST...item27c3031144

Exhaust> flow master, magnaflow, banks, cherry bomb, ect.....

Bored tb is like $75 shiped then he refunds $25 back if u send your old one.

Injectors are like $70 shiped they are cleaned and rebuilt.

So Pretty much by adding these things to your jeep you should have a little more hp But with me doing all this reading the one real thing you can do to get alot of hp is either turbo it, super charger, or stroker. all of which cost more than $1000
