Like was mentioned before plug a oil pressure gauge (tester) into the engine and see what it's ACTUALLY doing. Senders are not all that reliable, I've gone through three I think, I had to replace two under warranty.

If you don't have or know someone that has one you can pick them up fairly cheap. The Harbor Freight one works well enough for me.

I had this same problem not to long ago but my jeep ran like crap it would idle with no oil pressure then go on it was off and on really weird I ended up just replacing the oil pressure switch about a 20 dollar part located right about the oil filter and ever since then i have never had the problem
