I see alot of the SYE conversion kits for the np231 use a larger 32 spline output shaft. I swapped my np229 with a np231 and now want to do a SYE. The old np229 already has a fixed yolk and a larger 32 spine output shaft. Can I use the 32 spline output shaft and yolk out of the np229 in the np231? I can't find any info on this. It seems the np229 is rarely used and there's just not alot of info out there about this tcase. That would be great it I could just swap the output shaft of these tcases and have a HD SYE on my np231.

 

take it apart and compare it to a main shaft out of 231 but I highly doubt it.

 

I don't have a 231 to compare it to. Mine is in the Jeep and I don't want to have to take it out if it can't be done.
