Default Nice set of sliders?

Been thinking of getting some sliders. I like the basic 3x2 type, but I wouldn't mind some additional tubing to use as a step or for added looks. I was looking at JCR, and was wondering if this set would be nice. Could I use these as a step, and would it be too annoying to get into the vehicle with them sticking out? I'm at 6.5''.

I have their stage 3. Best thing I ever baught for the Jeep. They come useful all the time. Some closeup pics attached. Yes, get the ones with the side tubing. They protect the doors and body more and you could use them to swivel the Jeep in tight spots around trees and rocks.

Is it a hassle to get into the vehicle? A friend has a similar lift height as me and his sliders stick out and you have to stick your leg out over the slider before you can climb in.

Thanks for pics!

Another nice slider is the rigidco rx22 I have on my Xj I paid 200 for them and the bottom of the slider fits flush with the pinch rail so you do not lose any clearance with them at all. I have tons of pics of them and the install process in my build thread

I have the JCR type 3 as well. They are awesome but heavy and also are bolt on, but also bolt to the pinch seam. Super beefy. i have no problem with the tube, it doesn't stick out real far.

I wouldnt call it a hassle, but yes its one extra thing you have to put your leg over. If you are shorter and try to use them as a step you are asking for a faceplant. My wife is a shorty and she has a hard time. Ther's more inconviniences within my Jeep then my sliders. Hehe

I really like the Iron Rock sliders, they have two different options, a basic 3x2, and another with an added tube to protect the sides and serve as a step

My recommendation is the C4X4 Double Tube rock sliders. $285/set and they come powder coated. I've installed a few of them on XJs over the years with no complaints. Check them out.

Here is the link to Terry (Rigidco) Flicker Photstream http://www.flickr.com/photos/rigid/c...7601595342822/

Here's some pics of them before/after install with a few shots of them being used and from different angles . The last pic I was on the driver slider offcamber with the wight of the Jeep dragging along the rock the entire length of the XJ

If you plan to use our sliders for a step, I strongly suggest the stage 2 over the stage 3. Also, our sliders come with a lifetime warranty! We've been in the XJ Slider game of nearly 10 years and never had one set come back for replacement or repair!
