Default New tierod

So I recently bought a 01 XJ with a D44 up front (don't know which vehicle it's from). The Heim's are completely toast, and the offroad shop I brought it to said they didn't have heim's that small. Was recommended to source some DOM, and have them make me a new one, and weld in new bungs + new heims, costing me about 500 or so.

This is my first SA vehicle, so I was wondering if this would work: Order a new center link from: http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog...inglinkage.htm (as long as I can find out which D44 it's from, but I feel measurements will do), and buy new heims (this site doesn't weld their tie rods, it's one center piece so no need for bungs). Here's how my steering sits now:

I just wanted to make sure this would work...I don't see why it wouldn't, but then again this is my first solid axle vehicle. Seems a whole lot easier/cheaper than $500!

Why not cut the ends off of the tie rod and link and weld on bigger(can't think of the name) threaded sleeves? So that you can screw on bigger heims/tre's

Yeah the weld-in bung? I guess i'll have to take it back and see if a 7/8 bung would be small enough to weld in.

Yup that's the word lol couldn't think of it at that moment, tubing seems to be big and beefy, just try and find a weld bung that'll fit and heims that'll fit it also

That's a cool suspension set up, no coils?

Nice curve in the tie rod... anyways I got tubing, 7/8 heims and bungs for 240 shipped from Ruff Stuff Specialties. Very high quality parts.

Yeah, it's got the two lower arms, and then a upper arm forking off the left lower arm, with fox shocks up front. Is the bend a huge issue? If so I might as well just order a new tie rod and heims from offroad design, cuts out the need to order and weld on the bungs. Figure the offroad shop would charge the same amount to weld in the bungs.
