well this is a horrendous piece of misinformation.. factory wiring is nowhere near the standard aftermarket colors. if you go hooking stuff up just because the color is close, you stand a real good chance of frying the deck or your jeep's wiring. verify ALL wires with a multimeter before connecting them.
if it hasn't already been done yet, I can assemble a list of the different wire colors for various years of xj's (not that they changed much over the years) for a sticky or something.

i don't need them.. I have full diagrams for just about every vehicle on the road at work thanks to the company's subscription to alldata. when I go back to work on Tuesday, i'll try and find some free time to post up the info in a new thread over here.
