Check with quadratec. I know they sell their headunits with a harness that plugs right into the original wiring. Maybe they'll have one appropriate to your pioneer unit. Good luck

Any local audio shops should have the harness.

if your installing a new HU (head unit) then it will have its own harness that you can splice into the existing wires. all the oem wires in jeep should be labeled with what speaker they go to. if your HU didnt come with a wiring harness (id wonder about that) then go to best buy and get one from them. they should be on the shelf. as for wattage, if your speakers are OEM then i think 10 watts.

I think he's talking about a harness that plugs into the factory harness. Then you splice the HU harness into that. That way you leave the factory harness unmolested.

I usually spend the few extra bucks so I don't have to hack the factory harness up.

I agree, my wires were already hacked from when I put in my previous head unit about 8 years ago when I was younger and dumber...

Has anyone bought a new HU that has built in Bluetooth that works well?
I had a Kenwood DVD HU in my last truck, it didn't work well with my Samsung Galaxy S3
I want to buy an Alpine or Pioneer with BT,HD radio and sirius/front aux plug

I have the Alpine CDE135BT and it works 100% with my LG Optimus G. Starts music automatically - I do not have to touch my phone to play music or make calls. And according to my "callees", the audio quality is great.

well this is a horrendous piece of misinformation.. factory wiring is nowhere near the standard aftermarket colors. if you go hooking stuff up just because the color is close, you stand a real good chance of frying the deck or your jeep's wiring. verify ALL wires with a multimeter before connecting them.

if it hasn't already been done yet, I can assemble a list of the different wire colors for various years of xj's (not that they changed much over the years) for a sticky or something.
