This is one of those things where slower can be faster. You start a job, do it carefully and methodically and everything goes flawless the first time, even though it takes double the estimate. Try to race it, you start out ahead but than start making stupid mistakes, and time time (and cost) ads up.
I spent an full summer doing the head and head gasket on the Heep. Something people say is a weekend job. I didn't know what I would find, and I found other issues that needed attention. Along the way, I had to divert my budget to my DD for a timing belt and water pump, than had to work out of town for a month, and deal with less than ideal weatehr. Had a few minor issues to address when things were put together, but the time paid off. Im not charging someone by the hour who may get upset if it takes too long, and it's my butt that's going to be walking if it comes apart on me.

For anyone considering doing a stroker build...once you get in there and start spending money, you'll start finding out you need to spend more money. Then, when you think you've gotten everything you need, something else pops up that demands more money. If I had deeper pockets, and not as much overtime, I may very well have had it done, LOL...that's what this hobby takes, time and money. Problem is, when you have one, you usually don't have the other!
