New(to me) Jeep
Hey everyone my name is Nick, I know this is not the place for an introduction but I believe I already did once before. But anyways I just picked up a 1998 Jeep Cherokee last week locally and am just trying to see if I can get some help on figuring out some things about it. I've done a lot of searching on here and other places and just need to get some specifics figured out if I can. I'm not exactly what brand lift or even size is on the truck but I do know it is a short arm and that the brake lines have SkyJacker written on them but I don't think it is a SkyJacker lift on it, the shock have explorer written on them which I believe to be ProComp? I'm new to Jeeps this is my first one. Ive had Toyotas and just recently sold my 2007 Hummer H3 with a lot of accessories. Anyways, any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Tires are 285/70/17's for reference. Tires shown in pics with bullet hole wheels are 33/12.50/15's. Changed those out the day I got it. Plan on building a front winch bumper for my Warn M8000, and trying to build a tire carrier bumper for the rear. Also plan on redoing the headliner this week along with ripping out the carpet and bedlining the floor.
Picture of my H3 I had. 2007 Adventure with Gobi Stealth Rack,ARB Bumper, Warn M8000 with synthetic line, 35/12.50/16 Duratracs w matching spare, Magnaflow Exhaust, N-Fab Steps,K&N Intake,

Looks like maybe a 4.5" lift and cutout flares to fit a 33" tire? Looks to have something like a rear add a leaf spring and a lift shackle which should net about 4.5-5" if I'm correct. But it may be closer to 6" lift because the lower control arm angles are really steep.

Not sure why you would say to put the original wheels back on, they were hideous being way to wide for the tire causing the "bubble effect". The tires on these 17's are just temporary rollers until I can buy the KM2's. Anyways here are some pics of the parts, if you need any pictures of anything specific let me know Ill try to snap it. Also keep in mind if you see something done wrong or dangerous or anything let me know because I bought this truck basically as it sits minus the wheel so I have not done these upgrades! So don't flame me about something I didn't really do. Just try to keep in mind that this is a project not a showroom quality daily driver. I know it needs shocks, bumpstops(they are dry rotted and falling off). Not sure why they welded the sway bar links together but do you guys think I should just take it off all together?

I think he means these tires don't have much tread left compared to the others

I just dont care for the big 17 wheels make it look like a hotwheels or something the needs hydraulics and a 70 glitter speedboat paintjob and a steering wheel made out of chain links.

I honestly like the 17's better than the 15's because I hate a 15x10 wheel. Looks so stupid for the tire to be that bulged out. If they had been 15x8's I would probably have kept them but I got these 17's and tires for free so why not mount them? If I find a cheap set of 15x8's in my area I may think about remounting the BFG's. As far as the SYE I'm not sure I'm at work tonight so I will try to look tomorrow and find out. I want to replace all the bushings in the front because a lot of them are squeaking and old. I can find the Poly bushing kits but I have read these will make the ride harsh (like it can get worse than it is now). Any ideas for the best place to get the rubber replacements? i.e. Dealership, quadratec, etc.?

Buddy I'd say she has a mixed lift under her. It looks like some 4.5" coils and a relocated adjustable track bar? Why you relocate an adjustable I'm not sure unless the stock hole was out of round. The rear springs are a bastard pack with what looks to be a short add a leaf and a long add a leaf (probably stiffer than hell) with some 1.5" lift shackles? And I can't see clearly but the rear d-shaft doesn't look to be a sye setup but I could be wrong
